Higher Education Champion

Full-time 

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) are a proud partner of the Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (neaco) who are funded as part of the Office for Students’ UniConnect Programme. We aim to help young people from East Anglia with little or no experience of university explore the world of higher education. We work with students in years 9-13 who live in areas identified by the Government with low rates of progression to higher education.

Phase three of the Uni Connect programme started in August 2021 and will, in principle, run through to the end of July 2025. Funding for the programme is subject to confirmation and consultation on an annual basis. To deliver upon the aims and mission of neaco, ARU employs a team of Higher Education Champions to deliver the project branded ‘Take Your Place’ across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough schools, colleges and within our communities.

With a degree or part qualified in a relevant professional qualification at degree level or demonstrable appropriate level of experience and evidence of CPD, you’ll have experience of, and really enjoy, working with young people aged 13 and over. You’ll be enthusiastic, proactive, patient and a creative thinker. We are looking for someone who has knowledge or experience of working with secondary schools and who is confident about progression routes to higher education. You will be interested in supporting young people take the next steps from school or college with confidence and high aspirations. You’ll have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of colleagues. An innovative and engaging presenter, experience of and confidence in organising group activities for young people is essential.

neaco Outreach Officer

Full-time 

As part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) and The Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (NEACO), the Norwich University of the Arts is seeking to appoint a NEACO Outreach Officer to support and work with NUA Higher Education Champions to deliver outreach activities to creative students in schools and colleges from years 9 to 13.

The NEACO Outreach Officer will work in a variety of partner secondary schools, sixth forms or FE colleges across the region. The postholder will work with the Higher Education Champions to develop and deliver creative workshops for school and college visits.

The successful applicant will have excellent organisation skills with the flexibility and adaptability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, providing administrative support to the NUA NEACO team.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will be the main point of contact for the team, answering calls, emails and responsible for event bookings.

You will be educated to degree or equivalent level qualification in an art, design or media subject. Experience of developing and delivering art, design and/or media activities for young people would be desirable.

A full clean valid UK Driving Licence is essential due to the requirement to travel across the region and in some cases to rural locations where public transport may not available.

neaco Higher Education Champion

Are you passionate about widening participation and have the skills and/or experience to make a difference to the lives of young people?

UEA is a partner of the Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (NEACO), part of the Uni Connect programme. We are recruiting a Higher Education Champion committed to supporting young people from areas with low progression to Higher Education (HE), to reach their full potential. Based in schools/colleges in West Norfolk/Wisbech you will deliver activities to target students aged 13+ to increase their knowledge and aspirations. Experience working with young people, understanding progression routes to HE, strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach are essential.

The role is available from 6 January 2022 on a full-time, fixed term basis to 31 July 2022 and will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Project Administrator (Take Your Place)

Anglia Ruskin University are looking for a Project Administrator to support their team of Higher Education Champions as one strand of their Schools and Colleges Engagement Team. 

ARU are looking for a project administrator who can commit themselves to supporting them to achieve their goals and you will be welcomed as the core of their team. Cambridge Regional College are a key partner in our project and so you will be working closely to support them too. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to think quickly to solve challenges as they arise. You will need to be enthusiastic, proactive, patient and dynamic across all business areas including finance processes, event organisation, meeting support, as well as being able to deliver a high level of customer service to project partners, schools and enquiring organisations.

With Two A levels or Vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent, you’ll be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and work without direct supervision. You’ll have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of colleagues.
